About Me
Technology has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I like to say I was into computers before it was cool back when “user‑friendly” meant you were the one doing the heavy lifting. An IBM PS/2, a blinking DOS prompt, and a 56k modem that sang its strange little song… that was my childhood. I’m still nostalgic for that era, not because it was easier, but because it taught me patience, curiosity, and the joy of figuring things out one command at a time.
My father managed one of the early MicroAge PC stores in the ’80s and later co‑founded CMS Enhancements, building the hard drives and tape systems that powered the first wave of personal computing. Watching that world rise, crash, and reinvent itself taught me early on that technology is always moving and that staying grounded matters more than chasing every trend.
In the early ’90s, I joined a small computer club that met at a local arcade to dial into BBS systems. Real‑time chat and early multiplayer games felt almost mystical, like discovering a hidden frequency under everyday life. Those moments didn’t just spark interest they shaped how I see technology: as a living ecosystem full of possibility, connection, and the occasional delightful glitch.
I still remember when “computer class” meant Word Processing, Math, and Typing, and when Oregon Trail was the height of classroom interactivity. Now kids take Chromebooks home like it’s nothing. Watching that evolution has made me appreciate how deeply technology shapes the way we learn, work, and play and how lucky I’ve been to witness so many of its chapters.
Over the years, I’ve watched the industry leap from 32‑bit to 64‑bit, from early Hyper‑Threading to multi‑core processors, and from physical servers to virtualization and cloud computing. Each shift didn’t just make things faster it expanded what we believed was possible. That sense of discovery guided me toward a career in IT, supported by technical certifications and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Business Management.
Today, my work spans Systems Administration, Systems Analysis, Applications Administration, Service Desk Operations, Web Development, and Database Management. Much of my recent experience involves supporting healthcare and research and line-of-business applications. Where I’m responsible for bringing all stakeholders to the table, including vendors, clinicians, administrators, engineering and technical teams to keep critical systems stable, secure, and aligned with real‑world needs. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s meaningful, and I take pride in doing it well.
My approach is simple: stay calm, listen carefully, understand the problem, and build solutions that are dependable, scalable, and human‑centered with AI as a tool in the box not the entire box. Technology moves fast, but clarity, patience, and a good sense of humor never go out of style.
