Technology has been part of my life from the very beginning. I like to say i was into computers before it was cool….the point & click generation can’t fathom the wonder of navigating a DOS prompt on an IBM PS/2 or the dial up 56k modem….bleep beep boop
I am still nostalgic for retro and legacy tech while looking towards the future, feeling fortunate to have been alive during the era of Apple vs. Microsoft, and the wave of the internet and that really opened the marketplace to competition and innovation. Watching personal computing evolve from those early days gave me a front‑row seat to how technology could change everything.
So back in the 1980’s my father managed MicroAge, one of the pioneering franchised PC retail stores of the time & went on to found CMS Enhancements a manufacturer of PC components such as HDD (internal/external) [IDE SCSI &&& Tape Drives], that thrived during the late 80-90’s during the early days of Personal Computing when the price tag was much steeper than it is today. However my Dad knew when to sell his stake in the company because the early PC market was a bloodbath and there was alot more risk involved in scaling manufacturing and distribution channels along with more competition. So at the end of the day the market eventually leveled with the price of computers coming down relatively speaking. Which is good for the consumer because we benefit from the super efficient supply chains and modern manufacturing of today.
In the early ’90s, my friends and I joined a computer club that met monthly at a local arcade to dial into BBS systems. We were captivated by real‑time chat and early multiplayer games — it felt like stepping into a new dimension. Those experiences sparked a fascination with technology, not just as a tool, but as a growing ecosystem of possibilities.
I still remember when “computer class” meant learning Word Processing, Math, and Typing, and when playing Oregon Trail with classmates was about as interactive as it got. Today, kids take Chromebooks home to do their assignments. Seeing that shift has made me appreciate how computers have transformed the way we learn, work, and play and I’m grateful to have been part of that evolution.
From the leap between 32‑bit and 64‑bit architecture, to the early days of Hyper‑Threading, and eventually the rise of multi‑core CPUs and virtualization (VMMs paving the way for cloud computing), I’ve watched breakthroughs redefine what technology can do. That perspective inspired me to pursue a career in IT, supported by technical certifications and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Business Management.
With decades of exposure to technology’s rapid evolution, I bring a blend of historical insight and hands‑on expertise to every project.
